Cabinet Approves hike in allowances for CG Employees as per 7th CPC - DDI News

The Union cabinet on Wednesday approved the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission for higher allowances, including house rent allowance (HRA).

The HRA that has been approved will be 24%, 16% and 8% of the new basic pay, depending on the type of city.

“The HRA will not be less than Rs 5,400, Rs 3,600 and Rs 1,800 depending on the type of city and calculated at 30%, 20% and 10% of minimum pay Rs 18,000,” a government statement said.

The HRA revision will benefit more than 7,5 lakh employees. HRA constitutes 60% of the total allowance of a government employee’s pay.

The cabinet decision comes more than a year after the pay of central government employees was increased.

The financial implication of revised allowances would be around Rs 30,748 crore per annum, the statement said.

Other allowances increased

* Rates of Siachen allowance for soldiers increased from Rs 14,000 to Rs 30,000 per month and from Rs 21,000 to Rs 42,500 for officers per month for extreme risks and hardship.

* Fixed medical allowance for pensioners increased from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 per month.

* Constant attendance allowance for those with 100% disability has been increased from Rs 4,500 to Rs 6,750 per month.

* Rate of nursing allowance increased from Rs 4,800 to Rs 7,200 per month.

* Operation theatre allowance increased from Rs 360 to Rs 540 per month.

* Hospital patient care allowance/patient care allowance increased from Rs 2,070 to Rs 4,100 per month and Rs 2,100 to Rs 5,300 per month.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Sub: Amendment in RRs for revising the upper age limit as 30 years for the recruitment made under Combined Graduate Level Examination conducted by SSC for the post carrying Grade Pay of Rs. 4200, 4600 & 4800/-.

The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s O.M. of even number dated 31st May, 2016 issued in pursuance of meeting in DoPT on the issue cited in subject above. All the participant Ministries/Departments were requested to send a proposal for amendment of the Recruitment Rules for the posts having Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/-, 4600/- and 4800/- which are part of CGLE so as to revise the upper age limit as 30 years, in consonance with the guidelines on framing/amendment of Recruitment Rules dated 31.12.2010.

2. Further, DoPT vide OM dated 14.09.2016 requested all participating Ministries / Departments to convey the status for amendment of the RRs of the posts carrying Grade Pay Rs. 4200, 4600 & 4800/- and to furnish a copy of the notification of the Recruitment Rules.

3. A statement containing the details of the posts for which recruitment rules are required to be amended is enclosed. The cadre controlling authorities of respective Ministries/Departments are requested to inform this Department about the current status of amendment. A copy of the notification issued for amendment in RRs may be sent to this Department latest by 10.01.2017.

LPG customers to now get a discount for on-line payment of LPG refill

Oil Marketing Companies, viz IndianOil, BPCL & HPCL are now offering an upfront discount of Rs 5/- on every LPG refill to all LPG customers who will book and pay for their LPG cylinders online. Customers can make payment through existing online modes i.e net banking, credit & debit cards at the time of web-booking their refills.

Customers will get the discounted amount displayed on their screens – i.e. net amount i.e refill RSP minus (-) incentive amount of Rs.5/- which they need to pay for their refill transactions. The net discounted amount will also be shown on the cash memo accompanying the home-delivery of the LPG cylinder.

Under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, it the endeavour of all Oil Marketing Companies aim to encourage consumers to increasingly shift to such payment modes through digital platforms to achieve the objective of no-cash or less-cash based transactions. The incentive will encourage more and more LPG consumers to go for cashless mode transactions.
