Sir, it is indeed great pleasure in hearing that PM Hon”ble Shri Narendra Modi is planning to reduce the age limit of central Government from 60 to 58 is remarkable step.
A similar step should also be taken in streamlining the age limit in the Ministerial cum LS Seats and RS seats also.
Sir in todays times the normal life span of human being have increasd and individuals lokk much energetic even at the age of 65 the normal life span of Central Govt. Babus should not be decreased but instead increased to 65 however the age of Class one officers should be done away with at the age of 50 and not even 68. The volume of Officers have considerably increased in the past few years. Also the proportionately high nos. of officers have made their involvement practically less. Either the age limit may be reduced or percentage of officers in CG Service may be reduced. The reduction of babus have already been reduced by converting of high percentage of babus post to Officers post.
IN ALL WHILE CONSIDERING THE REDUCTION OF AGE OF CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES OF BABUS THOUGH TO BE REDUCED, THE POST OF OFFICERS SHOULD ALSO BE REDUCED. THIS SHOULD ALSO BE LOOK INTO WITH DEEP CONCERN.

the age of the political leaders should also be reduced upto 60 years. No one should allowed to contest elections if he is above 60 years.

Sir I totally agree with the above comments – before taking any sudden suicidal step by the govt who have been powered to look into the betterment of the employees and if i remember there is a chapter in the po,l sc that the best govt is one who looks after the benefit of its work force and not the govt who look after its own benefits I am totally aghast when one said that the govt might hv got all the black money with whom it wants to save its image regards

THOUGH I HAVE COMPLETED 58 YEARS OF AGE AND HAVE ABOUT TWO MORE YEARS OF SERVICE AT CREDIT, BUT I DO NOT HESITATE TO EXPRESS THAT INDEED IT IS A GOOD PLANNING TO REDUCE THE RETIREMENT AGE FROM 60 TO 58 BY THE GOVERNMENT LED BY NARENDER MODI HON’BLE PM . AS A RESULT YOUTHS WILL HAVE MORE OPPORTUNITY TO SECURE EMPLOYMENT WHO ARE FILLED WITH VIGOR AND VITALITY AND HAVE NEW IDEAS TO UNDERTAKE ANY TASK.. BESIDES THE BENEFITS RECEIVED BY THE RETIRED PERSONS WILL BE INFUSED IN THE MARKET AND WILL ALSO GENERATE EMPLOYMENT IN THE PUBLIC/PRIVATE SECTOR. HOPE FOR AN EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT.

Prime minister is prime servant and therefore pay commission recommendations should be applicable to all such servants i.e. MPs, MLAs, etc. and this should be immediately demonstrated by applying to PMO & MPs before considered by pay commission . Democratic Govt. should be for people as it is by people & of people, but the past behaviour of the narendra Modi government is reminding us of British Rulers and Indian SLAVES, with act of suppressing them to the extent possible , particularly the middle class and tax payers. So my LORDS apply it and go on and ahead and than face the music of Nature i.e. Newton’s 3rd Law that is Every Action has Equal & Opposite Reaction !

IT IS EASY TO TARGET THE EMPLOYEES OF GOVERNMENT SERVICE. PENSION SCHEME WAS ABOLISHED FOR THEM FROM 1/1/2004.ON THE OTHER HAND LEGISLATURE i.e. MPs continue to enjoy pensions. They upgrade their pay/perks by their own power/resolution. For government employees pay revision is possible only after the Pay commissions and approval of the cabinet & so on.
The present government has inherent powers to dilute the pay panel report and may not agree to the revision of pay structure of its employees even if recommended by the Commission. Posts of public servants are kept vacant & increasing the workload of the remaining staff whereas vacancies in the legislature are to be filled within certain time frame as the law stands. Employees cannot protest whereas under the rules of business elected legislature can protest in several ways & handful of them can disrupt the proceedings, but any such action of the employees can cost them their job. . posted by LEKH RAJ GOGIA. email ID gogialr39@gmail.com

Dear Fin Experts and Jately Ji
The news spread like fire in the grass that age of retirement to be reduced. In the same manner we also the youth urge to allow candidates to contest in parliament elections at 50 yrs only. The scenario should not be repeated as in case of NDA Govt’s collapse in 2009 due to pain given to Babus. So the decision should not be for satisfying party’s mandate. Public in India are hardly concerned about manifesto of the political party they need matured decision of govt in balance. Let Modi jee invite views before floating a message – age to be 58.

The government should allay the fears of shocked employees immediately if the news is not true.. What happened to the justification given to raise the retirement age. Now a days people are healthy at older age and their expertise could indeed help the government. The government should otherwise think to retrench the employees who waste the govt money by simply chitchatting in the office without real out. cleanise the service system. that is the justify way.. not reducing the age of superannuation.

THE DECESION OF REDUCING RETIREMENT AGE TO 58 IS A VERY SAD BACK DECESION OF MODI GOVT. LGTAA HAI AAACHEY DIN AA GAYE HE. IN INDIA WHERE LIFE EXPENTENCY INCREASED THE RETIREMENT AGE SHOULD BE INCREASED UPTO 62 NOT 58 THIS DECESION REMBERS THE BRITISSH GOVERNMENT. IF MODI GOVT IS WORRIED ABOUT EXPENDITURE IT SHOULD BE THE RESTRICTION OF MP AND MLA TO CONTEST ELECTION ABOVE AGE 55 NO MINISTER SHOULD BE CHOSEN ABOVE AGE 55 YEARS EVEN PM ALSO . THIS COUNTRY NEEDS YOUTH NOT EXPERIEMPLOYEESNCED PEOPLE .GOVT EMPLOYEES COULD NOT FULFILL HIS RESPONCIBILITIES UPTO 65 . UPA GOVT WAS GOOD GOVT FOR CENTRAL GOVT EMPLOYEES. SO THE GOVT SHOULD RE THINK ABOUT THIS. MODI GOVT SHOULD CURTAIL EXPENCES OF MP AND MLA AND VISIT OF MINISTERS AND MEETINGS IN FIVE STAR HOTELS

The proposal to reduce retirement age from 60 years to 58 years is a courageous in the interest of nation decision. This proposal may be implemented in different parts. For example
1.Compulsory review of the employees in terms of medical, physical & mental, performance etc. Those who are still giving their best may be continued without further increments and which are below standards may be retired.
2.All the post of officers be reduced to 50 % by mass retirement, as the post of officers is totally burden on government without any productive and high paid. They on the one hand do not work on the other hand they engage class III/IV employees for their personal work hence their productivity is not only nil but in fact it is negative.
3.The needy retiring employees may be absorbed directly at 50 % of salary.
4.Time bound promotions of the officers should be stopped immediately. The time period of promotion should be same for each and every employee in all category.
5.The review of all the employees including officers should be done at the age of 55.

It is good move by Modi government for reducing the retirement age to 58. This should be implemented not only in central government but also in all public sector undertakings including financial sector under financial reforms.
The reason is in non executive cadres like substaff and LDCs , UDCs , stenographers and so on, there are more people who do not opt for promotions in their carriers . A penalty should be imposed that their retirement should be reduced to 55 as they become a stumbling block for the productivity and decision making. They influence the younger generation from low level of contribution. It is to be added that activity chart is to be designed to measure the performance vis a vis the salary they are getting from the government or the public sector financial institutions.
On the other side in executive cadres as they near to the age of retirement , they do no contribute to the extent of the salary they are getting by procastinating the decision in order to protect the retirement benefits and their own provident fund contributions. Further there are many more reasons why it is to be reduced to 58. wages is to be linked to
 productivity.
These very senior people who has already served for a period of more than 33 years , study reveals that majority of the people does not contribute proportionate ly to the salary due to job security even if they do not perform.
These aged people should vacate the seat on account of two reasons .1) They have to give their way to the next generation for creation of employment or 2) the salary from the government or public sector undertakings may not be required if their wards are already in employment as they would get their pension to take care of themselves..
For the smooth workflow in the department
in central govenment departments may be merged and in financial sector, all public sector banks be merged and reduced to 4 or 5 banks to get a consolidated comfortable capital base to meet the requirement of
basle-iii requirement without capital infusion from the government.
It is to be mentioned that the salarycost of one person in the age of 58 to 60 can be met for payment to 3 youngsters of the same cadre..
Further the effective and efficient people who are at the age of 58 and above may be taken on adhoc basis depends on the need in the departments to have the stablity to meet the immediate contingency.
The reversion call may be taken after a period of 7 years.
The strategy will not only increase employment to the youngsters who are the children of the present 58 to 60 year old , they will not be the stumbling block in moving things faster by the youngsters.
Further this is not new. Kerala state which is having 100% literacy is having their retirement age as 56. Many private banks are having their retirement age at 58 only whose shares are costing more than the public sector banks and contribute more profit.

Mr modi must quit immediately as he is above 60. Hand over the reigns to a fresh college graduate with lots of vim and vigour. Political class too draw pay and pension with a mear 5 year selfish service. Let him calculate the daily expenditure of PM and prove himself whether he is productive or otherwise. If the mental agilty comes down with age, is he different from an average indian? When CM or PM mpves amy where, just count the vehicles in the covey. Not less then 30. Why don’t they reduce their expenditue instead of poiting fingers at am emplpyee?

The total work force in central govt is to the tune of 50 lakhs only. How much employment you expect to generate for youth by reducing age from 60 to 58 yrs? In fact present generation is not inclined to join govt services as there are multi-fold packages and much better career is available in private sector in addition to lesser competition (because of multi-fold vacancies and opportunities available) when compared to govt sector. life expectancy has also been increasing over the years. In fact, it is time to increase the retirement age in steps to 65. How many final decision makers in central govt (politicians) retire at 58?

What ever one person decides people say it is good decision. No body are dare to say it is not justifying decision and misguiding.IT is not timely decision if implemented. Now nothing was done. So many vacancies are kept lying without making recriutment since so many years. Only seniors above 50/55 in non gazetted ranks are working .Most of the gazetted ranks are following on the lines of these senior people. If the idea transforms into decision it will effect the govt offices and decision will hamper the morale of senior employees who are also part of citizens of India who served the country. The decion has to be taken after reviewing the same how other countries are following with regard to retirement age. Specific age should be prescribed for one and all scientists, judges, teachers ,State govt, central govt emploees,Political leaders ,bank, autonomous bodies, elected representatives .I hope haste decisions will not increase growth but spoil the progress.

I don’t think it’s good idea to reduce retirement age to 58 for elder people. youngsters are capable to get jobs in various fields like marketing , banking, business IT industries, where on the other hand life becomes miserable for those who are having plans for daughter marriages, financial planning, loans, health issues, education etc
Youngsters are having plenty of options and age, where many old people completely depending on their jobs and they are not in age to get out of home to start working in private sectors even after having many years of experience.

 Hon’ble Prime Minister of India,
 Sh. Narender Modi ji,
 Hon’ble Sir,
With profound veneration I would like to draw your kind attention regarding the award which was given by the then Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Sh . Atal Bihar Bajpayee ji who increased the retirement age of Central Govt. Employees from 58 to 60, but your Govt. has put up the proposal to decrease the age of retirement from 60 to 58 which will ruin/destroy the future of such old employees who were to be retired on 2017-18 will be forcibly retired in 2015-16.
Sir, the last 4-5 remaining years of employees are very important and critical because either their son/daughter reached in higher education or they reach in the age of marriage, and these both stages are the period of more expenditure. Further, sir, these 4-5 years of employees are very meaningful because they get more salary and can face the expenditure of higher studies but employees will be forced to retire at the age of 58 instead of 60 and the future of their children will be destroyed.
Every retiring employee who have5 years made planning regarding future of their children but your good self has no children how you can realize the problems of family men. I have a daughter who has taken admission in B.Tech if I got retired two years before how shall I manage her fee for remaining years? Somebody who have taken loan how one will pay the loan installment of remaining years your good self require no loan, how you will realize it?
Sir, I know that your good self has done many good work for country and you are the rays of hope of million Indian but sir do not do such bad work of taking back the award of 60 year retirement age which was given your idle man Sh. Atal Bihari Bajpayee ji. If your good self have regard for Sh. Atal ji do not take back what he gave to employees of Central Govt. .
I expect that your good self will consider the problems of these old age employees and please let the age of retirement be 60 for the good future of their children.

All our plans will flop. What about our children education. If govt wants young generation then why do we hv such old politicians. Some of them can’t speak also properly.  ONE SHOULD FIRST KNOW THE LOGIC OF HAVING RETIREMENT AGE. IN BUSINESS ,THERE IS NO RETIREMENT, A DOCTOR MAY BE HIMSELF SUFFERING FROM THE SAME INCURABLE AILMENT GOES ON TO TREAT THE PATEINT FOR THE SAME AILMENT. SIMILARLY A LAWYER CAN PRACTICE TILL HE CAN DELIVER THE RESULT.THIS SHOWA THAT RETIREMENT AGE WAS HAVING DIRECT RELATION WITH THE ABILITY TO DELIVER THE TRUTHFUL RESULT FOR WHICH ONE WAS EMPLOYED. DUE TO ADVANCE MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCHES NOW THE LIFE EXPECTANCY AS WELL AS THE RESULT ORIENTATION HAS INCREASED. THIS SHOWS THAT EVEN AFTER THE AGE OF RETIREMENT THE PEOPLE ARE ABLE TO DELIVER MORE EFFECTIVELY THAN THE YOUNGER AGE PERSON.
THE ABOVE FACT IS VERIFAIBLE FROM THE FACT THAT EVEN PM WHO IS ABOVE THE RETIREMENT AGE IS TAKING THE STEPS AS WAS EXPECTED FROM THE YOUNG. THERE ARE MANY MPS’,MINISTERS IN THE CABINET WHO WERE THE GOVT. SEVANTS AND AFTER RETIREMENT FROM THE SERVICE NOW HAS JOINED THE POLITICS AND ARE MINISTERS. IF IT IS ASSUMED THAT SUCH MINISTERS CAN DELIVER THE GOODS THEN HOW COME IT IS CONSIDERED THAT THE GOVT. EMPLOYEE CAN NOT DELIVER AFTER THE AGE OF 58.
IT SEEMS THAT IN POLITICS TO GAIN POPULARITY ANYTHING IS justify AS CAN BE SEEN THAT THE PERSON DEFEATED IN ELCTION IN MAHARASHTRA IS MADE CABINET MINISTER AND WHO DEFEATED THAT CABINET MINISTER IS GIVEN LOWER BIRTH IN THE CABINET. MOST SURPRIGING FACT IS THAT THE RETIREMENT AGE WAS INCREASED BY THE NDA GOVT AND NOW THE SAME GOVT IS REDUCING THE RETIREMENT AGE.
THE ABOVE SITUATION REMINDS THE HINDI SONG “” GANDA HAI PER DHANDHA HAI YE””
